Known for caring for the most diverse collection of Florida wildlife anywhere, Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo brings together animals and visitors to create unforgettable, natural connections. It is a place of discovery that inspires generations to cherish and preserve wildlife. Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo operates an onsite manatee hospital, one of only a few such facilities specifically dedicated to critical care for injured, sick and orphaned wild manatees. Since opening its facility in 1991, the Zoo has treated nearly 400 wild manatees and more than 225 have been rehabilitated and reintroduced into Florida waters.
